This took me a while to figure out, but it’s to connect your new Macbook to a non-HD TV. There is an adapter for the video output – the Mini Displayport – which has a VGA plug on the other end of it.

This will not connect to your analog TV.

What will connect to your analog TV is something called a PC to TV converter box.

If you hook all of this stuff up together you don’t need an HDTV to use connect your new MAcbook to a TV (which is very simple to do, with the right adapter, of course).

Grab and RCA cable, and also 3.5mm to RCA cord for the audio and you’ll be good to go.

But you might need a wireless mouse to use as a remote control.
